Garden Week in Georgia, April 19-25
Marietta Daisies Self-guided Walking Tour

We, (Bryan and Katryn Taylor) enjoyed a self-guided walking tour in celebration of Garden Week in Georgia, beginning at the Fair Oaks location with a look at the signage plantings, one of the Marietta Daisies’ garden projects. From there, we continued to the next stop on the map, the Marietta Schools Foundation, where plantings flank the sidewalk entrance and extend to the two planters nearer the doorway.
Following the map along a portion of the Keep Marietta Beautiful “Adopt-a-Mile" on Polk Street project that we maintain, we then headed toward the Marietta Square for the final stop on the tour, the Butterfly and the Stump garden at POP’s (Park on Polk).
All of the gardens feature the National and Georgia garden clubs initiative to plant in a
red, white, and blue theme in appreciation of the United States of America’s 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026.
It was an enjoyable and pleasant walk along Kennesaw Avenue to Polk Street, a leisurely stroll taking in spring in all its glory, lasting about 45 minutes.
We ended the morning with breakfast on the Square and some sightseeing at the Saturday Market, picking up herb plantings and fresh Georgia shrimp for dinner.
I hope other members of our club took the time this week to engage more deeply with our projects, share with friends and family what we do as the Marietta Daisies, and appreciate the hard work our members volunteer to keep our community beautiful and connected.
In gratitude, thank you to everyone who helped make this
first Marietta Daisies tour a success.
I hope we can do it again next year and make it even better.
