A Beautiful Fall Morning Caring for Our Garden Club Home

What a beautiful October morning we enjoyed this past Thursday as fellow Daisies came together to add a little more fall color and beauty to our beloved garden club home!

Daisies Alison Hlinka, Kimberly Hogg, and Katryn Taylor spent the morning planting cheerful violas, generously provided through the Marietta Daisies Fair Oaks maintenance project, around the newly updated Marietta Educational Garden Center (MEGC) sign.

At the end of summer, our garden center sign was replaced with a beautiful new and improved version. Along with its fresh appearance came a thoughtful change in positioning, allowing both sides of the sign to be prominently visible to those traveling along Kennesaw Avenue in Marietta. This wonderful improvement also created an opportunity and a little extra gardening responsibility to beautify and maintain planting beds on both sides of the sign!

Our morning began with relocating several mature ferns to the sidewalk side of the sign, where they now complement and fill in the existing fern plantings. Next, we turned the soil, removed old roots, and enriched both planting beds with soil amendments provided by Alison for the project.

With the beds freshly prepared, we carefully planted the colorful violas in a pleasing pattern, creating a welcoming display that will bring seasonal beauty to our garden center throughout the cooler months.

The finishing touch, a fresh layer of mulch is planned for Saturday morning. Just a quick

15-minute visit will complete the work begun during our productive Thursday morning together!
