POP’s Garden Preps for Winter with Pansies and Snapdragons!

Fall 2026

With a little weeding, watering, and additional seasonal planting, the garden is taking shape as a colorful and welcoming winter garden retreat.

Co-chairs Dani Travis and Katryn Taylor of the Marietta Daisies’ Park on Polk, POP’s Garden Project, rolled up their sleeves for a productive day in the garden, planting beautiful pansies from the Marietta Council of Garden Clubs Pansy Palooza fundraiser and preparing the landscape for the cooler months ahead.

The co-chairs also conducted an inventory of plants in preparation for the garden’s application to the Rosalynn Carter Butterfly Trail, documenting the pollinator-friendly plants that help support butterflies and other beneficial visitors throughout the seasons.

To further our educational mission, plant identification markers were placed throughout the garden, inviting visitors to discover the names of our plants and learn more about the important role they play in supporting pollinators.

A second workday was added this week with the help of our wonderful Daisy Dudes, Bryan Taylor and Morgan Taylor, who generously pitched in with the heavy lifting, spreading fresh mulch, and digging holes for additional fall plantings of ornamental grasses and shrubs. Their hard work helped support our newly refreshed garden beds, ensuring a beautiful seasonal display for everyone passing by our Garden Club home.

So thankful to Bryan and Morgan for lending their time, strength, and helping hands! We are so grateful for our Daisy Dudes and their continued support in keeping our Garden Club projects beautiful for the Marietta community.

A heartfelt thank-you to our wonderful team of Daisies: Sharon Bittinger, Yvette Beckett, Martha Lee Sanders, Lyric Gartner, and Mary Ellen Ledbetter, who generously gave their time and energy to watering, maintaining, and caring for POP’s Garden throughout the hot summer months!

Their dedication and teamwork helped the garden thrive through Georgia’s summer heat, ensuring that our plants and pollinator habitats continued to flourish. From watering thirsty plants to tending the garden’s many needs, these devoted Daisies demonstrated the true spirit of stewardship and community.

Because of their helping hands and caring hearts, POP’s Garden remained a beautiful and welcoming place for both pollinators and visitors throughout the summer.

Thank you, ladies, for helping our garden grow!

Even as the seasons change, POP’s Garden continues to grow, educate, and inspire proving that a garden's beauty and purpose can flourish all year long!
