Merry Mingle 2023

Thank you to all the volunteers on the Hostess Committee that made this

Merry Mingle a wonderful success!

“Come Take a Walk Down Candy Cane Lane!”

was the theme of Merry Mingle, which was held again this year at the Marietta Educational Garden Center, on Nov. 29.  Merry Mingle is sponsored by the Marietta Daisies Garden Club, and is held each year to allow members from various garden clubs to get to know each other and enjoy food, fellowship and fun, in a festive holiday atmosphere.

Many of the Daisies who were the event helpers were dressed as Elves for the occasion.

Attendees were treated to a scrumptious buffet brunch, with personalized boxes of dessert treats for all.  Each guest also had an ornament hanging on the Christmas tree, to take home as a memento.

The dining tables were decorated by some of the guests, representing 11 garden clubs in the Laurel District.  Those who designed the tables were encouraged to keep the décor “whimsical.”  All who attended voted on their favorite table.

The winners of the first place table were Michele Cox and Valerie McElwaney of the Jonquil Garden Club.  Their silvery and snowy table which they called “Snowbird,” featured small red cardinals amid snowy foliage, with a twinkly snow globe-type lantern as a centerpiece.  This was the second year in a row that Michele and Valerie won the first place design award.

The Elves had a few surprises for the guests. A vocal rendition of “My Grown-up Christmas List” was performed. Then everyone was treated to a visit from a hilarious giant Elf,

(Joe Arnotti) who came bearing gifts, singing Broadway-style tunes, spreading Christmas joy, and reminding all to have a “sparkly, jolly, twinkley, jingley” Christmas!!

Other features of the party included a table of Christmas cards to sign for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta patients and collection boxes for donations to MUST Ministries. Guests were also encouraged to support Mostly Mutts, a non-profit animal rescue and adoption organization located in Kennesaw.

All attendees agreed that they thoroughly enjoyed their “ walk down Candy Cane Lane!”
