In 2016, I decided to begin formal
wine education, and passed
the Certified Specialist of Wine exam in January of 2017.
With absolutely 0 experience in the wine industry, and not much of a varied experience in drinking wine, it was an ambitious endeavor.
But, here's the thing.
The study of wine has taught me more about geography, history, chemistry,
and culture, than I have learned through any other mode of education.
I am an adventurous wine enthusiast always willing to try a new wine or grape varietal. I sometimes can’t remember what day it is, or what it was I just got up to do, but I seem to have the ability to retain any information related to wine.
My husband of 31 years is my wine journey companion, always willing to sip, taste and swirl, and very graciously overlook the percentage of our monthly budget spent on wine.
Together we have two grown daughters, a wonderful son-in-law, and a very strange cat named Luna.
The most important thing about wine is its ability to bring people together and facilitate joy.
Always drink what you like and have fun doing it.
